US: Wall St opens lower as Trump's auto tariffs sap sentiment

Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Thursday (Mar 27), as President Donald Trump’s latest tariff gambit sent auto stocks into a tailspin, while investors sifted through a slew of economic indicators.

At 9.30 am ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 110.22 points, or 0.26 per cent, to 42,344.57.

The S&P 500 lost 16.77 points, or 0.30 per cent, to 5,695.16 and the Nasdaq Composite lost 67.55 points, or 0.38 per cent, to 17,831.47. REUTERS
