Tennessee woman hears "loud crash," shock at what's sticking out her roof
A woman who heard a frightening crash in her home was shocked to discover just what was sticking out of her roof.
Christina Katherine took to TikTok to show off a tree that had struck her house during high winds in Western Tennessee, and viewers were stunned.
"There were heavy winds and a tornado warning here in West Tennessee," she told Newsweek. "My husband was at work so I posted a funny video about how I wasn't going to take cover.
"Then after my husband came home we heard a huge crashing sound and came downstairs to find the tree through our ceiling."
In the clip, Katherine shows the tree, which had penetrated the roof of her house, located just feet away from the bed where she and her husband sleep. The tree can be seen piercing the roof and other items in the house.
She told Newsweek that they had the tree removed soon after and that their home insurance will cover the replacement of the roof.
"That's a whole tree," she can be heard saying in the clip as she shows the tree from the outside, piercing the roof. However, Katherine and her husband found the humor in the situation and laughed throughout the video in disbelief that a tree had stabbed their house.
Tennessee recently experienced high winds. Wind, flood, and hail warnings were issued for many parts of the state over the weekend.
Thousands of people took to the comments section of the video in shock, while others shared in the couple's laughter.
One person with the name Zuul joked: "Hey! Contractor here. The issue here is that tree isn't supposed to be there. Hope this helps!"
Meanwhile, Mianna wrote: "Where did it fall from?! The amount of force is wild!"
"The basket tried so hard to catch it for you," said Shillelagh.
"Probably collateral damage from a super heroes fight in my opinion like Hulk being angry, throwing a tree, something like that, pretty common," Emilie Clle quipped.
Ash shared: "Girl this feels targeted repent or something."
"So it's not enough to NOT drive behind the log trucks, because apparently they'll just launch themselves to your address," said @Nodnarb130.
Taylor commented: "I would have just gone to bed. That's a tomorrow problem."
