Realtor asks "why is this house so cheap?" then looks inside
A realtor has shown the secret inside an unassuming home, and TikTok users are amazed.
Arizona-based realtor Paulina Flores shared a clip of a home that has a mobile home inside it, something people would never guess by looking at it from the outside. In her viral video, which has received 2.7 million views since it was first posted on January 10, Flores shows the outside of the home from the street before going inside.
Once she steps into the property, she begins to show viewers around, revealing what seems to be an ordinary house until she steps into another room.
"So, what's going on here?" she says as she shows the former mobile home, which has been incorporated into the house. Similar to an RV, the room is long in shape and has a kitchenette. Then, she goes into another room and opens a door to reveal the front of the mobile home, which is now inside the house.
She wrote in the text overlay of the video: "POV: You find an RV inside a house for $225,000."
"You can't pick it up and move it," she said in the clip, to which a background voice responded: "It's an immobile home."
Newsweek has contacted Flores for comment via TikTok.
According to data from Zillow, the average cost of a house in the state of Utah is $517,506, compared to the national average of $356,585.
More than 20 million people in the United States own mobile homes. It is projected that another 9.6 million households plan to purchase an RV within the next five years.
Flores' video received thousands of comments from other TikTok users, and people had varying opinions on what they were seeing.
One user, @lickitbeforeyoustickit, commented: "Now knock 100k off of the price. Who would pay 225k for a mobile home build around?"
Meanwhile, Brittany Morris wrote: "I would love this. Where?"
Teresa shared: "That's an older single wide mobile home. Those were built in the 60s-70s... more than likely the land owner built his home around what he was already giving in once he had saved his money/family grew."
"What kind of world do we live in now where a $200 thousand house is considered cheap?" Stephen James said.
Many people commented to explain that what they were seeing was a mobile home rather than an RV. Flores said in the comments section of the clip: "Everyone it's okay I know it's a mobile home, accidentally typed RV you can hear I say mobile home in the video."
