A crash involving a bus and a truck has killed seven people in Idaho near Yellowstone National Park, according to state police.
Newsweek has reached out to the Idaho State Police (ISP) via email Friday for comment.
What To Know
According to the ISP in a release, the crash occurred Thursday night around 7:15 p.m. involving a Dodge Ram truck and a Mercedes passenger van. ISP says both vehicles caught on fire after the crash.
ISP says that the van was "reportedly transporting a tour group." The van was carrying 14 people and six died. The driver of the truck also died, ISP said.
"The Fremont County Coroner's Office will release the names of the deceased after the next of kin have been notified. That office will also determine the cause and manner of each death," the release says.
The crash occurred along U.S. Highway 20 near Henry's Lake around mile marker 399. The Idaho Department of Transportation reposted on X, formerly Twitter, the account Idaho 511 saying the road closure in the area had been cleared around 3 a.m.
