Gaza water firm resumes work after dispute with Hamas
A company operating several desalination plants in the Gaza Strip said on Wednesday it had resumed work after clarifying the fate of an employee detained by Hamas security forces.
Eta, which supplies clean water to more than 1 million people in the territory, had temporarily halted operations a day earlier in protest at the employee being taken into custody.
In a statement, the company said inquiries and communication with the authorities had "clarified" the circumstances of the detention, describing it as a "misunderstanding."

No further details were given. The employee was in good condition, the company said, adding that the matter had been resolved "in the spirit of understanding."
Eta apologized and said it respected the Hamas-run authorities in Gaza. Hamas has not commented on the incident.
The Islamist group has reasserted control over many areas of Gaza since a ceasefire with Israel went into effect over a month ago.
Public protest against it is rare, and it is known for cracking down harshly on internal dissent.
