Donald Trump has "crossed" line of impeachable offenses, AOC says

U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York said Monday night that President Donald Trump has “absolutely” committed impeachable offenses, arguing that the president has already crossed a clear constitutional line.

“Personally, I think the criminality is quite clear to me individually,” Ocasio-Cortez told reporters. “The hard part of impeachment is what in the litany of illegal actions been taken do you actually draft articles on?”

Why It Matters

Ocasio-Cortez’s comments reflect growing pressure from the progressive wing of the Democratic Party to more forcefully confront Trump’s conduct, even as party leaders weigh the political risks of impeachment.

Her remarks come amid renewed scrutiny of the Trump administration’s use of executive power and accusations that it violated congressional spending mandates—issues that strike at the heart of the Constitution’s separation of powers.
