Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Marvel fans around the world are chomping at the bit for 'Avengers: Doomsday.'

Set to release in 2026, 'Avengers: Doomsday' is boasting one of the most stacked casts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with dozens of actors from other Marvel Studios projects named to be involved.

This includes one of the most popular members of the superhero team: Thor, the God of Thunder.

Lovably played by Chris Hemsworth, Thor is arguably one of the most powerful members of the Avengers, having been with the team since the original film premiered in 2012.

Recently, Hemsworth shared a video on his YouTube channel celebrating 15 years as Thor, along with a caption thanking fans for all of their support.

"Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life," Hemsworth said. "For the last 15 years I've held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special... was sharing it with all of you.

"Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me. Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable. Next up, Doomsday!"
